Hi, I'm Zoë!
I come from a family of "I can do that myself," and that is exactly how My Teacher Says started. Two years into my teaching career, I couldn't find classroom tools that felt right. The wording was off, the purpose wasn't quite there and nothing felt like it had been made by someone who actually stood in front of a class every day. So I made my own.
The name comes from my childhood. My mum will tell you my favourite phrase as a pupil was "but my teacher said..." because if your teacher says it, it must be true. That has always stuck with me. The impact a teacher has on a learner is something you do not fully appreciate until you become one yourself.
My Teacher Says started in 2020, off the back of a need that was building in my own classroom. I wanted to give meaningful feedback that encouraged the learners in my class, using words and phrases that have a positive impact on children's confidence. That is still exactly what every stamp I make is designed to do.
I feel incredibly lucky to share that idea with thousands of teachers who care just as much about the pupils in front of them as I do.
